The State of Illinois missing the tournament and recruiting in Chicago and why the kids aren't staying home. Just caught a little of the first one. On again at midnight.
All I saw was Mike Irvin interview. He says teams in this state aren't making Chicago a priority. He says they know the coaches but relationships could be better and coaches don't come around as much as they need to to improve relationships.
I understand recruiting like most everyone here and I would bet that our coaches spend more time in Chicago than UK, KU and Duke or any other school. So I'm not buying that one.
Could relationships be better. I would definitely think so but don't blame it on coaches not coming around enough. If that's the case let Parham live in Chicago and only come to Champaign on game days.
