...and in other news

Another phenomenal pick in Dan Bongino! How do I know besides the fact that Dan is a great patriot? Well, Jeffy doesn't like. You know, the same Jeff who is going to vote R in 2028, LOL.
Bongino has plenty of experience to take the job as Deputy Director of the FBI. Cop and SS eventually serving on Presidential protection. Also solid investigator. Holds an MBA. According to Jeff, people in DC are well educated, so Bongino fits right in.

Jeff no doubt opposed Louis Gerstner taking the CEO job of IBM in the early 1990s since Gerstner came from Big Tobacco (no tech background). The stock shot up $10 a share on Gerstner’s name alone. He saved Big Mainframe (IBM) - great leaders are great leaders.

Another dumb tweet. Federal government workers are mostly highly educated. Not an apples to apples comparison. US postal workers average about 39k. More red meat for the MAGA mopes.
The average salary for a postal worker in the U.S. is approximately $65,293 per year, with salaries ranging from about $44,170 to $95,678 depending on the position and experience. In Florida, the average salary for a postal service worker is around $52,250 per year.

Great news, Jeff! They will undoubtedly have no problem finding work that actually adds to the US GDP rather than subtracts from it. I'm really surprised that all of this Fraud, Waste, and Abuse went undiscovered by our best and brightest. Shocking.

You are clueless. Should we shut down facilities like Argonne National Labratory and Fermilab? Who do you think does basic scientific research?

DOGE isn't cutting waste. They are reducing headcount without any thought or rationale. It is likely that the best and the brightest or those near retirement are taking the buyouts. Great way to weaken the country.

That's rich, the guy who voted for the worst president ever in Biden and then voted for the dumbest candidate ever in Kamala calling someone else clueless!!

How on Earth did you come up with up Argonne National Laboratory and Fermilab (which employ a whopping 5000 people between them). That came out of leftfield. How many have been let go?

How about adding 80,000 IRS agents under Biden? That is 16x (A + F) just being added to the Federal tally. But, you are a good little lefty - there is no such thing as a good cut in government. Jamie Dimon is all for DOGE and calls it necessary to address the inefficiency of our government. Guess he is clueless too.

And to top it off clueless wonder, do you know what GM did to 1000 workers in Arizona who pretty much refused/resisted returning to the office full time? They shut down the facility and got rid of the workers.

Nice dodge of my main point. What systematic approach is Musk utilizing to make sure the right cuts are being made? The answer of course it is being done in an random fashion with no thought at all.

Just because people are “highly educated” does not mean the tasks they do are worth the money. It’s hard to believe you’re an accountant.
An ex-Marine was a CPA, he hated the job sitting at a desk and adding figures all day.
His Brother and their wives were trying to figure out what to do ?

Chickens were mentioned. His brother left the room, came back in 5 minutes. "I ordered 50 chickens to raise.", they put a 3x5 card on the local grocery store bulletin, they sold them all before they were ready (8 weeks). They ordered 100, all sold.
Now he's quit CPA and the family sells 500,000 meat chickens a year. Along with thousands of eggs, beef, pork anywhere West of the Mississippi. (HQ in Callie)

When I was the Operations Manager of the Saks Fifth Avenue Catalogue Dept we would put out thousands to every charge customer, the biggest was the Christmas catalogue. We would hire 100's of new people to staff the operation. After Dec 25, orders would shrink and I would fire 100's , until the next book. My way to decide who to fire ? If I didn't know who the person was after 2 or 3 months ? "Report to HR please. "

I know a CPA who is a former Marine. No chickens. Not the same guy.

Is this corruption? Is she not getting a job for which she is qualified? I have a hard time with some of these posts. What am I missing here?

So real people with real lives and real mortgages can’t spend five minutes to list five things they’ve done to keep from disrupting all they have?
Of course not. Hatred of the administrations is their life's blood. I have to admit the psyop unleashed starting in 2015/2016 is rather impressive, albeit somewhat horrifying. I'm not the world's biggest fan of Trump, but I don't have the ability to endure the cognitive dissonance required to oppose absolutely everything he, or the administration, does. Opposing the idea that the federal government has a responsibility that is essentially fiduciary when it comes to the handling of tax money, and holding the government and it's employees to account in that regard, is just one more instance where you see people jostling to take nonsense positions when Pavlov's bell is rung.

Not enough information to say if it's corruption. But rule 1 of ethics is to avoid even the appearance of anything potentially unethical, and the revolving door between federal regulators and the entities they regulate leaves open a lot of unsavory possibilities, and erodes public trust in this case of both the FDA and the pharmaceutical industry, even though it's possible everything is, and has been, completely above board between her and Pfizer.

Yes, the concern is that she was promised a job after her “service” in government, and that she would treat Pfizer well while in that government role.

The uproar over listing 5 things that you have done in the last week is hilarious. It’s a bare minimum test. It’s like a company asking for a cover letter when you apply for a job. They probably won’t even read the cover letter, they are testing if you will do the bare minimum. A high % of applicants don’t create a cover letter, even when asked. Those applicants get thrown out.

I have a weekly half hour meeting with my boss every Monday. We talk about what I did last week, and what I have planned for the week ahead. It keeps me accountable, and I get help where needed.

Things like this should not be looked as cumbersome. This should be pretty normal. If you can’t respond to that email quickly, and with some details of your prior week, you probably didn’t do much last week.

I think Musk’s motivation and reasoning is more lower level. He’s trying to figure out among all the people we’re paying, who’s actually showing up and working vs sitting on a beach somewhere?

Idiotic request. For 80-90 percent the answer will be "I stood at the counter and took applications, issued permits, recorded documents, received payments, answered questions from the public, processed filings etc... for 7 hours per day." Think about it! For those that are working on fewer cases or name specific matters, they are most likely DOJ, FBI, Secret Service, State Department, and the information is confidential. Asinine!

Yes, bare minimum test.

And that is all they have to say in an email. It took you one minute to type up.

I know the public sector is not used to any accountability, so this feels like a lot.

The reporters who are showing up to work every day and doing their jobs writing articles about it/making news videos in support of the government employees really take the cake for me. I mean, they have the opportunity for severance pay and plenty of time to find work in the private sector.

Frankly, if you aren't showing up to the office and can't bother with listing 5 things you did for work last week, it's an easy assumption that particular paid position should be eliminated, as it isn't important.

One of my friends asked me why they would not all take 8 months pay and go find a new job. Well, you have to be willing to take a chance on yourself, and most in public sector jobs have never had to do that.

Judging by how they react to being asked to write a simple email, I don't think many are ready for the interview process in the private sector. I had 5+ interviews for both of my last 2 jobs. That's something that most public sector employees can't comprehend.
