The thing about USAID is that almost nothing is what it seems. Some of the stuff probably is in the national interest in a roundabout way. I think as things are dragged kicking and screaming into the light of day it will essentially give the US public an opportunity to weigh in on whether the means employed are reasonable for the ends sought, and whether the ends sought are what we as a nation want our presence in the world to be. That's completely separate from the potential grift side of it, which in time we'll see more about. Mostly what DOGE is doing at this point is leaving little post-it notes all over where detailed follow up is required. It's also separate from the issue of whether we can afford everything we might want to fund at the level we'd like to throw money at it. Saying 'no' to yourself is an extremely powerful tool in personal finance, one that we should strongly consider wielding as a nation.
You have to be depressed and unhappy to be in this Dem party. They think the worst of everyone (except their new recent favorite victim group) from birth.
I know some white women that turned more conservative after having a son. My wife is one of them. She can’t stand hearing the position of the left on young white boys.

Have you ever done a little research before posting? As of 1/23/24, at least 30 Americans had died over there.
I don’t want to speak for stonedhead, but I think he means our own IS military operations. Unless I’m misreading what you posted, it seems like the Americans you reference are not in our military and are private contractors, mercs or volunteers for Ukraine.

That’s not true. Americans have died there, in a war that never would have escalated under respected American leadership.
Of course Americans have died there. Were they US Military or former military/mercs? Did our government send them or did they go of their own volition?
Manlius was a feeder Honor Military School that acted as a stash place for mostly Army football, about 30 guys a year. ( Now they have MAPS on campus. ((Military Academy Prep School))).
EVERY guy I knew that graduated was sent to Europe eventually as a Tank Commander. None of them ever saw Nam !

That takes about 6 months ! We got a few more this summer, one was a rooster (given away, 1 died, 1 hasn't produced an egg yet.) We have about 20, and some have aged out as productive layers. + 3 years old.
