People on the left would rather see another 100k Ukrainians die than see Putin gain another inch of territory. It's strange.

That narrative about migrants committing less crime is dying a fast death. Biden/Harris invited the worst people to surge our borders, and we all paid for it.
They don't care if they can also celebrate some Russians dying, and the Russian army being weakened. It's worth the cause in their mind, because Americans aren't dying over there yet. Well, American army soldiers, anyway. We have had Americans die in that war, but it doesn't seem to bother people.
What does that have to do with Trump giving Russia whatever it wants in the negotiations? Missing money is a different issue.
It is absolutely true. Trump is giving Russia everything it wants and leaving Ukraine out of the talks. Why do you think the Russians are so happy with the talks? Sorry you can't deal with the truth.
I think Trump is telling people that what we are currently doing will not continue. The war has to stop. Who can stop the war? Putin. So Trump has asked him what it would take to end the war. That is what happens in negotiations. If Putin gets "whatever he wants" I will criticize Trump heavily. I do not expect that to happen, especially considering people have said Putin's end game is taking all of Europe.
Zelensky and Putin are at war. You think they are just going to jump on a zoom call with Trump and hash things out?
Ask Putin what he wants in order to end the war. Go to Zelensky after, and see if any of those things are negotiable. Then continue to negotiate.
Bringing Zelensky in right now does nothing. He can't stop the war, and it's not clear he wants to.
People on the right want to reward Russia the aggressor nation by having Trump giving them everything they want and punish Ukraine. It's strange.
I don't know anyone on the right that wants Russia to get more powerful. I know a lot of people that want USA to use its strength to end all of the killing.
The entire left seems to be happy with status quo. It's pretty bad over there guys. I don't know if you have any neighbors from that part of the world, but I do. They are pretty convinced that we just want both countries to blow each other up. That's the message that has been sent. It's time for a change, even if Ukraine has to give a little bit up.
If Canada and the USA were fighting, Canada was decimating us, and we were completely reliant on foreign aid, I'd give up a small part of the country to end the killing. Is there anything that Ukraine can give up, that people would support? Or should we just have an endless war with endless dying?

Russia currently holds 20% of Ukraine. That is not a little bit. I am all for ending the war just not rewarding Putin for starting it. Whatever the agreement is, it is likely Putin will continue to wage war against Ukraine in the future and take more land as he knows Trump will support his actions.

People have to understand Russia is getting something out of this. If the alternative is holding for every last square inch, we are just going to continue watching Ukrainians die off, and funding it. Tough to have a country with traditions when all of your adult men are dead.

Ukraine is and always has been a corrupt cesspool and is NOT a US ally. Why did they allow a war to begin? They could have disavowed NATO and evicted the US Bio-terror labs. Where do we get all this insight on "everything Putin wants"? I've only seen speculation, and really, assuming this results in an end to the war, anything at all Putin will have arguably gotten will be labeled, "everything Putin wants."
Realistically, an agreement that forces Putin to limp home with his tail between his legs and nothing he can call a victory is unlikely. It's a safe bet that if that's the only choice Putin keeps fighting until either a) he's driven out of Ukraine convincingly or b) Ukraine falls. b) is more likely and in either scenario millions of casualties and possibly a European-wide (or beyond) war with Russia. Just because Putin probably doesn't want either of those things at this point, doesn't make people who don't want them either Putin supporters.
And while Trump/the US can try to broker an end to the war (i.e. be an intermediary between Russia and Ukraine), Putin and Zelensky are the guys who have to sign it, not the US. If Zelensky won't agree to anything Putin will agree to, the fight goes on no matter Trump "offers". Maybe in that case the rest of Europe will have to pay the whole tab because if Trump thinks Zelensky refused what he thinks is a reasonable offer. he might use his stick by stopping or severely curbing the funding.
It sucks for Ukraine. Big time. But it seems reasonable to offer them a chance to stop the bleeding without completely capitulating to Russia. If they want to fight on, that's their choice.
