..and in other news

Yes. It’s a bit of nuance. Religion replaced real science making it a fact for the masses. In this particular case the Church (which was extremely powerful at the time) suppressed the truth much like our own government has tried to hide/censor certain topics. Jeff and stonedhead would still believe the earth was flat and the solar system revolved around us.
You must be another Honors Graduate. Religion didn't replace science, there was no science to begin. Myths and superstition grew into religion and religion was the whole ball game until the renaissance. Then slowly over centuries science grew to replace religion and faith, except among the Seventh Day Adventist, RFK, Jr. and MAGA if Trump tells them otherwise.

Science has produced a great deal of knowledge that is established fact. You don't need to keep reviewing items that have already been proven and established as true. Keep supporting loons like RFK Jr. as the orange man demands.
Do you care to poke holes in what he said or are you here to impress yourself with "orange man" comments?

No Evidence US Govt Allocated $50M To Send Condoms to Gaza

· No Evidence US Govt Allocated $50M To Send Condoms to Gaza Trump’s White House press secretary claimed millions of taxpayer dollars were spent to fund condoms in Gaza.
Why is the US government sending $50 mil to Gaza? Hamas still has a lockdown on the Palestinians.

There was science as soon as humans learned to use fire to cook food, or figured out they'd die if they stepped off a cliff, or that if they saved seeds and put them in the ground at the right time of year they'd have a future food supply. The problem with the Church at a certain point is they effectively declared the science to be settled (coincidentally settled in a way that consolidated their power) when in actuality it was quite incomplete, as it still is today on a very large number of issues.

The ironic thing is, "the science is settled" is about the most conservative position possible, where "wait a minute, let's take a better look at this" is a prototypical liberal take. Not dissimilar from "let's protect and uphold the unelected/unaccountable bureaucracy status quo" versus "let's get a handle on this and make it better for the people and less costly/burdensome."

Yep, this isn't an issue of whether the earth is flat or geodetic, it's whether 'science' funded and curated by an industry is being properly overseen as far as it pertains to public health. You'd think people would have learned the lessons from relying on the tobacco industry to produce safety data for tobacco, or sugar producer funded science that pointed fingers elsewhere to place the blame for the health impact of excess sugar. The chronic disease epidemic in this country should prove that most of what we call science around food, nutrition, and health care protocols is bullshit. In the end a system produces the results it wants, so the question is who is getting rich as children get sicker and sicker as a demographic.
The opioid epidemic is more recent example of trusting doctors and law makers to do the right thing.

WOW! You must believe the earth was created literally in 7 days, and that Adam and Eve existed. I am sorry you have no perspective of mankind's evolution. Science had nothing to do with how to start a fire, falling off a cliff or whether you should not tease a bear. Most of that was the result of big forces like Gods teaching lessons, or punishing people or giving fire as a gift. That lasted for many hundreds of thousands of years before "science" was developed.

WTF dude, you're creating a combination straw man/red herring that actually runs completely completely contrary to what I was saying. And you couldn't stop there but you have to try to add personal insults on top of that. You were wrong. Science predated the writing of the oldest books of the Old Testament by quite a long time. Saying no science existed prior to ~2500-500 BCE (at one time recently that was the guess of when the oldest books were written), is patently absurd--they depended on the technology of writing, and possibly paper/ink to even have been written. And obviously agricultural science existed as it is present in the very first book (Cain v. Abel), as is shipbuilding (Noah). The Bible simply isn't a scientific treatise, although at times it was misrepresented as such (e.g., against Galileo) by the so-called experts and authorities with credentials and badges of office.

The bottom line with RFK Jr's nomination is this:
  • It was a quid pro quo. RFK Jr endorsed Trump and Trump gave him a cabinet position. That is the only reason this happened. It has nothing to do with finding the best person for the job.
  • If Republican senators did not fear getting primaried in their next elections, there is no way clown car candidates like RFK Jr. would be confirmed.
  • It is likely he will get confirmed with 51 votes or so.
The amazing part is how hard Trump voters will defend a nomination of a person like RFK Jr. who is loon. It would not surprise me if Trump actually thought he was a nut but nominated him anyway since Trump really does not care very much about this cabinet position anyway.

Yawn. Trump won, get over it. His strategy of bringing in the RFK Jr voters was a winning one and therefore very smart. RFK Jr serving in President Trump's cabinet is not concerning like a Kamala Harris presidency. You voted for more of the nonsense given to us by Joe. Open borders, horrible inflation are just a part of that disaster. The weakness abroad had wars, death of innocent people and loads of tax dollars shipped overseas. You voted for more of that idiocy.

I found a video you will probably enjoy.

Bernie loves communism and writes books on these crazy views that are sold to his nitwit fans. This is a great example of him enjoying the benefits of capitalism.

Classic!

I agree mostly with what you posted. To the victor goes the spoils. To his credit, Trump is following through with his promises.
If someone would make the argument that RKF Jr was appointed to a relatively unimportant cabinet position because of political expediency and not merit, I would have no argument with that.

That's Jeff to a T even without the 818. He accepts no responsibility for who he voted for and their absolutely destructive policies. He just wants to complain about Diaper Donnie. RFK Jr is highly qualified for the position. I'm not even sure I agree with everything he says, but the Senate is there for advise and consent. They are a Rubber Stamp except when it comes to Republican nominees and in particular Trump's nominees. Some of that blame lies with the pathetically weak, establishment Republicans. Do nothings. Bought and paid for just like Sanders.

I only saw part of the back and forth with the Dems and Kash Patel. He did a great job. Problem is the Dems weaponized the FBI so it is hard for them to argue he is unfit by gaslighting fear over weaponization. The Dems pull at strings and hope something unravels and it doesn't. Illinois' Dick Durbin is aptly named.

Durbin is a lightweight otherwise he would have been the Senate Majority Leader at some point. Truly embarrassing the people Dem Illinois elect. It may be more futile in Illinois than it is in California.

RFK Jr. has no background in public health so he is not close to being well qualified for the position. Why is the Senate supposed to be a rubber stamp in particular for Trump's nominees? Is Trump something special?

You really should stop. You're sounding more clueless with each successive post. Probably a member of some cult.

From Wikipedia:

"The earliest roots of science can be traced to the Ancient Near East, in particular Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia in around 3000 to 1200 BCE.[2]"

You may want to look into his background a little more.

Btw, The presidents cabinet is not there to make law. They are there to enforce the law.

My wife flew back from Seattle 10 days ago. On the way back on the first flight, as they were getting ready to land the plane the pilot suddenly aborted the landing and pulled up to come back around. The pilot said there was another plane on the runway.

On the second leg of the trip, the exact same thing happened.

I have only had that happen once on a landing and it was on a private plane coming into Schaumburg.

I am glad they are looking at all of these people put in position the last few years, but how long does that take?

That is right, Ancient Egypt, followed by Greece, Rome mostly in building science. That is recent history in the development of mankind. How many tens of thousands of years prior to that was man present and evolving with only superstition, myths, and ultimately religion. Clue--Homo Sapiens about 200,000 years ago. So 190,000 years or so before science.

RFK Jr is a lawyer. Xavier Becerra the Biden HHS sec was also a lawyer. Becerra had no background in public health. I don’t recall you complaining once about him, but Orange Man pick is bad!
