Interesting comment considering how bad the policies are in California that actually created the Palisades disaster.
I've acknowledged the terrible policies in California and how that has impacted the disaster. I'm worried about us continuing to feed the incompetence, instead of giving reasonable direction in terms of the rebuild.
I'm not saying people can't rebuild. I'm saying the state has to allow luxury insurance carriers to assess the risk and price it accordingly. And if people choose to not insure at those high costs, they will have to live somewhere else, or take on the entire risk. No more bailouts in uninsurable areas.
As they get better at managing the risk, and maybe some people move out, the insurance carriers will come back to the area.
