..and in other news

Most of this is completely false.
If we take the word “exempt” literally, most are certainly false.
The Obamacare one is false.
Congress was exempt from the Biden vaccine mandates.
Over and over again rate of returns on portfolios/individual stocks continue to be peculiar, whether that’s direct or an immediate relative. Even the best traders do not come close to some of these gains and the uncanny knack for when to trade. By law, not exempt. In action Martha Stewart gets prosecuted.
FOIA expressly excludes Congress from the definition of agency (5 U.S.C. §551(1)(A)).
The FISA warrantless spying one is weird. They don’t have term limits.
Literally the one about the Founding Fathers rolling over in their graves is false. They are just skeletons at this juncture.

Corruption is a real problem that hurts the country far beyond the bank accounts of politicians. It causes them to consider decisions which might be in their interest and not ours. That's not the deal people ever want or expect when they vote for someone.

Decades from now, I believe history books will name Biden as this country's most corrupt president.
Agree on both counts, and anyone that wasn't singing la-la-la with a finger in each ear knew that about Biden before he got voted in. But trying to pursue him/them before they get DoJ et al reigned in will just get the admin stuck in a quagmire.

This is sort of a water is wet thing. I hope the new admin doesn't get distracted by looking back except where absolutely necessary. The focus should be on the future, and to the extent possible, pursuing reform that would say never-again to the myriad real problems in Washington.
I don't think the new administration should obsess with political enemies. With that said, if they know of overt law breaking instances in the past, send investigators in to do their jobs. I get the feeling the people Trump is nominating are less concerned with optics.

I watched the Martha Stewart Netflix story. I did not know James Comey was involved. If the new DOJ were to look into his closet, they might find quite a few problems.

A dose of reality for everyone. All else is secondary. Must make serious cuts in government and bring back investment to the US. GDP has to be significantly stronger to fix this. Green New Deals, pork and other crap, an unaccountable, unelected bureaucracy with departments that can’t find what they did with $2.5 trillion has put us in this place. It only took about 50 years.

I get it, but that requires an apolitical DoJ to do their job, and that is something they would have to get in place first.

It isn't quite this simple but the recent low was 35% in 2007; Obama took over in 2008.

DOGE is extremely important as the current government is unaffordable, even with higher taxes "on the rich". Politicians love to hand out goodies to get votes and not pay for them. Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare are particularly challenging. I may be wrong but the Biden admin bragged about lowering prescription prices on some popular drugs and I think they accomplished it by giving money to the pharmaceutical companies to make them whole? With an aging population the medical area is going to be particularly difficult.

Governments at all levels tend to do things the opposite of good financial practice. In a “free market” it’s survival of the fittest. Even multi-nationals have to cull the fat from the executive ranks when the balance sheet and the banks say so. Government does not behave the same way with the People’s money. This is what happens when you get career politicians who have never been responsible for business, payroll, a medical or dental practice and only work in theories of economy. The reality of economy won the 2024 Presidential election. Government wastes the People’s money because it is just a budget. Every project is important. They just need more employees under their control and an even bigger budget. We have municipalities penalizing construction crews for not finishing projects in time, as opposed to providing incentives to finish earlier.

It definitely isn’t that simple. An economy with a much larger GDP has to be created to put a dent in the debt being serviced. That’s the BS of the diehard free traders and US chartered multinationals that aren’t loyal to the US employment population. Good government policy can incentivize these corporations to bring more work/manufacturing back to the US. Get rid of the drains on employment of US citizens and legal residents. Stop importing low level workers and non-workers. That’s just a part of the solution.

I am reading about Hunter's losing his 5 th amendment rights when under oath and questioned about his pardoned acts.
He would have to answer question, especially within the dates specifically pardoned !

Like: " Who is the Big Guy who received 10 % of your criminal acts ?"

It’s not just that. His pardon won’t cover any future instances of perjury.

I see that Trump has interest in RDS being Sec of Defense if Hegseth nomination doesn't make it. I can't confirm, but interesting name thrown out there.
