Illinois in on the turf at Memorial Stadium for practice this afternoon.
It’s a relatively light practice ahead of a full scrimmage on Friday. They will emulate Gabe conditions at that scrimmage, complete with pregame routine, coaches in the box, officials, etc.
Today is Illinois day on BTN. Gerry Dinardo and Howard Griffith are here. Their reports will air on BTN tonight.
Zy Crisler and Casey Washington are still out. Crisler no longer has a boot. He’s still limping a bit but should be fine. I doubt if either one participates in the scrimmage.
Also out: SAF Mathew Bailey, OLB Ezekiel Holmes, TE Nate Guinn. DL Sed McConnel. DB Tyson Rooks was back today.
Not much new depth chart wise. Denzel Daxon is now consistently the No. 1 nose tackle.
Miles Scott is pushing Tyler Strain at the boundary corner position. Safeties will be some combination of Demetrius Hill, Clayton Bush, and Nicario Harper until Bailey returns.
One guy I haven’t mentioned before..Juco transfer OLB Laine Jenkins. He definitely looks the part. Really quick twitch and long, He’s probably the 4th OLB right now behind Coleman, Jacas, and Alec Bryant.
