* Illinois practiced from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday in the Irwin indoor facility. Shorts, helmets, and shoulder pads. Same script as usual. Walk-thrus, warmups, position drills, 7v7, and team.
* Held out: Jamal Milan, Tony Adams, Stanley Green, Dre Borwn, Mike Epstein, Evan Jones
* LB Jake Hasen (ACL) looks good. He participates in some drills and runs without a limp. Still no contact, but he will be 100 percent when camp opens.
* I didn't see safety Bennett Williams out there today. Not sure why and I didn't get a chance to ask Lovie about him.
* Louis Dorsey and Isaiah Gay watched from the sidelines in street cloths.
* Ayo Shogbonyo is lining up at weekside defensive end. He played WILL linebacker last year.
* A walk-on to watch is safety PC Daniel, freshman from IMG Academy. He got a lot of reps at SS due to injuries and looked pretty good.
* Christian DiLauro was at practice today. He is just back from a visit to the Cleveland Browns. His agent is telling him he could go in the 6th or 7th round, or undrafted free agent.
* Visitors at practice today were MJ Rivers, Marquez Beason, Khalan Tolson, and Delano Ware.
* Alex Palczewski projects as one of the best NFL prospects on the team. He's bigger and strong.
* Freshman RB Jakari Norwood is small, but he can really scoot. Fastest of the running backs.
* The offense clicked a little better today that what I've seen this spring. They ran a lot of 4 and 5 wide sets. Cam Thomas was still inconsistent, but he made some nice throws. Dudek will get the ball a lot from the slot in this offense, and they stretch the field with deep balls to Smalling.
* Bobby Roundtree, Tymir Oliver, and Dele Harding were standouts on defense. Roundtree won battles off the edge, Oliver is a very good bull rusher. Harding has a pick of a throw that Thomas shortarmed.
