There was a huge debate on here between 13 months and a few years ago about whether Big Bad Brad or Lovie was the better coach at Illinois.
I think everyone knew where I stood on that from early in the tenures of both. But it’s truly insane to think about this.
Of course, since then, Lovie has been fired after another failed season and Underwood has positioned his program for a ton of success. I’d be interested to hear where @strobes77 falls on how things turned out.
Separately, I think it’s quite likely Illinois is one of the ten best programs of the 2020s. More interestingly, getting into the Top 5 seems genuinely possible. Underwood is that good.
