JAFAR ARMSTRONG, SR., WIDE RECEIVER - Former transfer from Notre Dame. Had no statistics during his one season at Illinois. Played running back at Notre Dame, but career was cut short by injury. Illinois was one of his top choices coming out of high school.
EDDIE SMITH, JR., SAFETY - Former transfer from Alabama. Had four tackles in 10 games this past season. Smith was tried at linebacker, STAR, and safety, but couldn't find a role on the defense.

DONNY NOVARRO, SR., WIDE RECEVIER - Former transfer from Valparaiso as a walk-on. Was awarded a scholarship in 2019. 17 receptions for 167 receiving yards on the season in 2021. 16 punt returns for 121 yards on the season.
DERRICK SMITH, SR., SAFETY - Former transfer from Miami. 17 tackles and 1.0 TFL on the season in 2021. Career-high nine tackles against UTSA 9/4/21. Transferred to Arizona State.

TOMMY DEVITO, SR., QUARTERBACK - Transfer from Syracuse. At Syracuse, DeVito passed for 3,866 yards, 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions over four seasons. DeViot is the projected starter for Illinois next fall. Ranked the No. 14 pro-style QB in the class of 2017.
TERAH EDWARDS, SOPH,, DEFENSIVE TACKLE - Transfer from Northwestern. Had just two tackles in his two years playing in Evanston. Was a 3-star OL coming out of Groveport (Ohio) Madison in the class of 2019.
