Ever since hearing Lovie was a possibility I've been glued to this board looking for updates, gauging reactions and what not.
It's been great since Illini basketball is on life support to have Lovie as an escape.
Im shocked at the national attention this move has gotten. I knew it would make waves in Chicago and the midwest, but ESPN has been on this non stop, and the buzz from players is amazing. I have to say I think this is a perfect fit for Lovie, because coaches are the stars in college.
Who wouldve thought that such a laid back guy could be considered a rock star, but Lovie really is. He just needed to find the right level for himself. I'd be shocked if he went back to the NFL without having FULL organizational control. Because after Koetter stuck the knife in his back in Tampa I cant see Lovie subjecting himself to that again.
