I've been talking to other scouts, college coaches, AAU coaches, HS coaches, and kids over the past month and so I thought this might be a fun thread to look at where Illinois stands with kids and some thoughts on players.
I'm going to list a few 2016-18 kids with some tidbits and then I will answer questions about other kids.
Of course, the most exciting thing right now is eating Belgian waffles so recruiting is a bit on hold as the team is in Europe, so we'll spice it up a bit.
2016 - Charlie Moore - Still feel like Illinois is at the top of his list despite all of the new offers and interest, along with Iowa.
2016 - Xavier Simpson - Iowa State and Illinois the frontrunners for this PG it sounds like.
Either of the two above would play and play right away at Illinois.
2017 - Jeremiah Tilmon - With a good season (NCAA tourney) this kid is very possible. Right now, Illinois leads I hear.
2017 - DaMonte Williams - Was amazing in May and June, then I hear that he got hurt at Peach Jam on a fall and wasn't as dominant later in July when we saw him. Will be tough to beat Illinois unless it is Kansas or something like that.
2017 - Jordan Goodwin - Called Illinois his leader and that's huge. Really, really like him. The more you see him the better he looks. does a little bit of everything.
2018 - Courtney Ramey - Illinois has made a great first impression on him with the early offers to he and Gordon. Obviously, a long way to go.
2018 - Carteare Gordon - College coach told me he could start right now in the Big Ten. Had a great visit to Illinois.
2018 - Tim Finke - The Champaign kid that everyone has info on is still young and will go through the process. Illinois loves these 3 2018 kids a lot.
