Heard from a friend (former Duke Law classmate that is a big Wake fan) today that the rumor going through the Iron Dukes (Duke booster network) is that the Heels get the hammer dropped on them tomorrow by the NCAA.
No specifics as to what the punishment is, but based on the Syracuse sanctions, I'd have to think at least a one-year postseason ban and serious scholarship limitations. Unlike The Cuse, a one-year postseason ban would be devastating because UNC is a Top 6-8 team next season, maybe better.
If they get a postseason ban, UNC's two best returning players (Tokoto is headed to the draft, not that he's all that great) will both be free agents. Marcus Paige and Brice Johnson are rising seniors, and both would have a free transfer option.
