Obviously I don't think their situation there has helped Claeys, but they hired a new AD in May so he probably wanted to bring in his own guy anyways...this just sped up the process.
Early names to remember:
P.J. Fleck will be all the talk and clear leader.
Bryan Harsin (Boise State) - Minny AD hired him at Boise State.
Craig Bohl (Wyoming) - Would be a great fit, but has never been in a hurry to move up the ladder.
Troy Calhoun (Air Force) - Will again be involved.
Scott Frost (UCF) - Rumored to be on Mark Coyle's (Minny AD) shortlist last year at Syracuse
Greg Schiano (DC - Ohio State) - He is going to get another chance somewhere
Mark Helfrich (former HC - Oregon) - I don't think it'll be that long before Helfrich gets another shot either.
Chip Kelly - The Gophers can dream, but highly unlikely
I would say:
1. Fleck
2. Harsin
3. Frost
...is the order on Coyle's call list.
Coyle did a tremendous job at Syracuse last year (where he hired Dino Babers) at keeping things under wraps as to who he was interviewing. Some people believe he already knew who he wanted and went for him. I doubt this year is much different, expect Coyle to go all in on Fleck or maybe there have been back door conversations with Harsin.
