Chicago Phillips tight end Jahleel Billingsley tops the board. He may not be ready to commit yet, but I would call Illinois a slight leader over Ohio State and Penn State.

Illinois is in very good position for Bryce Childress and Fabian McCray. They would be my picks for the next to commit. I might put Ira Henry in that category as well, but not positive yet.

If Illinois would take Alphono Andrews, he's also an Illini lean.

Illinois is right in the mix for LB Shammond Cooper, but he may wait a while.

Marcus Washington is second on the board, but I think Illinois is just one of many for him right now.

Look for Trinity Catholic athlete Mookie Cooper to be the first 2020 prospect on the Block I Report later this summer.

Two instate kids who I don't have a great feeling about right now are Jirehl Brock and Jason Bargy. There's ground to make up.

Nick Broeker is blowing up and enjoying the recruiting process. He likes Illinois, but he has a lot of great options now. This one is a test for Luke Butkus. Can he lock up a downstate lineman?

I'm surprised Josiah Miamen isn't committed to Notre Dame yet. It makes you wonder if that offer from the Irish is "committable". Illinois was in to see him this week.

WR Josh Delgado from IMG may visit. If that happens, Illinois could get in the mix for him.

Hardy Nickerson was in Ohio to see LB Donald Willis. Willis doesn't talk to reporters, so its hard to get a read on that one.

Illinois is back in the mix for WR Maurice Massey, another kid they could steal away from Iowa State. Rivals no longer lists him as committed to the Cyclones. We saw him at the Lindenwood camp last June. He's really good.

DE Dylan Hall says Illinois is one of 4 coming at him the hardest, but I think he may be a Plan B guy. If he visits, we could move him up into the top group.

The Block I Report will change a lot over the next couple of months. The evaluation period runs through May 31, then camp season in June. New names will pop up, and others will drop off.
