CHAMPAIGN Ill. – Former Fighting Illini star and current Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Terrence Shannon Jr. will have his jersey raised to the State Farm Center rafters on Saturday, Feb. 15 as part of the Illinois Basketball Honored Jerseys program.
Shannon will participate in a halftime ceremony at the Illinois home game versus Michigan State, set for 7 p.m. CT and broadcast nationally on FOX. The game is sold out, but tickets are available online through Seat Geek.
Director of Athletics Josh Whitman announced on June 20 that Shannon would join the Honored Jerseys program. He is the 36th player in Fighting Illini Men's Basketball history to earn this distinction and the third player during head coach Brad Underwood's tenure to receive the honor, joining consensus All-Americans Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn.
