I see the move to give Cubit the HC job as the right move. Let's look at the positives; he did a very creditable job given all the BS surrounding the program, he played without depth at WR, RB and TE and still had them competitive, he recruited well with an interim tag, and last but not least was not the circus Beckman was, he is a real football coach. We will have more depth at RB, WR, TE, OL next year, need to get more depth on both sides of the ball but have talent coming back. We need more speed and athleticism at LB and DB so hopefully he and staff can recruit well at those positions. We had chances to win all but 2 games this year, next year we get over the hump. If we were not going to be able to go after one of the top HC candidates, Cubit is the best alternative. I would hate to see us settle for another Beckman. The only mistake was not giving him a 4 year contract, 2 years is stupid. Support him, stop the blood letting, give Bill Cubit a chance to succeed.
