Specifically, our old friend Josh. He points out that we lead the rest of the conference by far in percentage of shots taken from midrange (while not shooting a good percentage on those shots), and trail the rest of the conference by far in percentage of shots taken at the rim (we're 6th in percentage of shots taken from 3). Now, these are conference stats, and a lot of them come from games where we didn't have the services of Ray Rice, but that also says a lot. Rice is the only player on this team who has a high shot volume and can get to the rim. The rest of the guys, not so much. Either they don't shoot much, or they shoot mostly midrange shots and 3s (everyone else). Ideally, bigs provide a lot of the at-rim shots, but we haven't had many contributions from our bigs on that end of the floor. So per this view, the supporting cast needs to start getting to the rim or take more of their shots from 3. Malcolm Hill in particular seems to have fallen in love with the midrange shot recently. Long term, we need post offense, but for that, Groce has to recruit some bangers or develop it out of the players we already have.
