This strikes me as a role model approach. This shows recognition that athletics are a big part of the face of any D1 university, but especially one that gets public tax dollars. Senior folks, who can communicate priorities and commit resources, need to take ownership of athletics. I still will never get the Vet professor leading and our only non-interim, Killeen, being relatively uninvolved.
So Purdue's AD search is being run by head of Board of Trustees...
