I have talked to a bunch of kids (dozens) at this point and there is a great concern and some are questioning things. Some are set to attend Illinois as a non-athlete. The colleges are looking at doing online stuff even next fall.
Some colleges have huge endowments, but many are in financial peril as well. The UI enrollment has been going up, more and more applications and they want to add students. But a lot of the money they make comes from the room and board and international students as well.
Their question is....why would I pay big money to go to a college that is online and live at home?
