Watching the game day experience at Boulder and comparing it to the wake I went to today at Memorial Stadium, Rick George was another big whiff by our administration and search committee . I sincerely hope Josh Whitman is able to change the culture at what has become a ten year athletic death spiral here in Champaign Urbana. Unfortunately, Rick George has done it in Boulder, but was deemed too risky by the committee even though he wanted the job and had the backing of Shad Khan. Funny how things work out. George is responsible for the biggest turn around in the Pac 12, meanwhile our turnaround is nowhere in sight.
