So lets say we finish the NC season 8-5. What record in conference would it take to even be considered for an NCAA bid this season? 11-7? I don't see that as feasible, even in a down year for the BIG. The coaching is just too poor and the lack of a PG will not allow that.
There is a decent amount of talent on this roster. I feel for Nunn and Hill. They will most likely go into their senior season having never played in an NCAA tournament. I also do not have confidence that the freshman will get the playing time they need to develop with a coaching staff that is coaching to keep their jobs this season.
I am a 1992 graduate, been watching Illinois hoops since the early 80s and have never been as frustrated as I am now. I will continue to root for these kids all season but I am now really understanding the frustration that many have expressed on the board.
