As we saw with Reese, the visitor thing is fluid. Every school in the country is trying to get those last visits in.
A press conference is schedule for National Signing Day on Wednesday, so will have a chance to talk to all of the coaches. We are going to spend some time with Mike Phair talking about the major change in the defensive scheme.
For Champaign area folks, I'll be on WDWS tomorrow at 5:30pm with Steve Kelly to talk about the recruiting class.
Illinois was in to see WR Evans Fairs at his school today and will have an in-home visit tonight. Fairs will still visit Kansas, but it feels like Illinois on this one. Jayhawks would have to knock it out of the park, IMO.
Illinois likes Fairs a bit better than Thomas Geddis, who can run but will take time to develop. Fairs can play early.
Good chance WR MJ McGriff commits to Illinois this weekend. So they will probably add him as a slot guy, return man - then one of the two wideouts.
I still say 50 / 50 between Illinois and Mizzou for Trevour Simms. Contrary to what has been reported elsewhere, his coaches did not want him to flip to Mizzou in the first place.
Big JUCO lineman Shane Richards finishes up at Illinois today then visits Louisville. I'll try to talk to him this evening and see how things went.
