Looks like Purdue doesn’t have a real strong run offense but that may be due to them having a strong pass offense...and they play to their strengths. BUT if they want to pass then that’s better than running for 200 yds on us.

On PU defense: well, it’s not very good but they have some capable players, kind of like our defense.
We can run on any team in the BIG, as we’ve proved so I like our ability to get big yards on the ground. We run on them like we have been all year and we will score points.

AJ or MJ? That is the question for many fans. Obviously AJ runs better than he passes and MJ passes better than he runs. Which is the better option to help us win? I think MJ is our best chance, but I’m not at practice everyday. However, we can keep teams honest and be less predictable with a better passing offense.

On defending the pass: we held up well vs USF with a bunch of freshmen playing. Now we have most of our secondary back helps us. We’ve faced some pretty dynamic playmakers in PSU and USF and kept them in check fairly well. We just need a pass rush. It was really nice seeing Milan out there doing things. He’s a huge help. Still think we give up 300 yds passing and 200 yds rushing.
I’m predicting a bit of a shootout. Hope they make more dumb penalties than us, as I think both teams will have multiple dumb penalties

This game is the REAL test of where we are as a program - we get a W and we may have some real momentum heading into the following week for another win.
Getting this win will put us in decent position for a 6 win season...
I predicted 4 wins this year and 5 if we get a bunch of lucky bounces. So far so good - still lots of season left but things are looking pretty decent for Lovie and his staff -
Need lots of improvement on defense in rushing yards allowed and pass rush
BUT we are 2nd in FBS in interceptions so far 10 in 5 games)
(N Texas has 12 in 6 games)

If we had a stout pass rush then I’d call this game a W. But I’m just not sure if we have enough offense to win. Purdue’s offense is a bit much - think we need to score 35+ to have a shot. Can we do it?
