...traditionally means Positive Mental Attitude. With this Illini team at this point in time, it can only refer to Purdue, Michigan and Alabama. I say this not to be "cutesy", but to focus on the very puzzling and horrific finish to this season. After last night's game, Coach Groce referred to the past two games as being the season's killers. He apparently is overlooking the unforgettable collapse at Purdue which started all of this, followed my Michigan in the BTT followed by Alabama in the NIT.
I believe that Coach Groce knows he has the unwavering support of MT who just last night before the game issued a nonsensical statement of support for Coach pointing to the definite "program improvement over the past three years. What? The Illini are now at a juncture very similar to the one after the Nebraska road game which put the handwriting on the wall for Weber. Where is the accountability for both MT and Coach Groce? JG just got out-coached by an Alabama assistant coach who successfully turned around what could have been an embarrassment for the Crimson Tide on their home court. He was able to inspire his players to play their "A" game so that they could move on to Miami in the next round of the NIT. Contrast that to the Illini situation wherein they should have turned down the NIT invitation given the past two collapse games which has now turned into three embarrassing-damaging events. PMA anyone?
