I know there's a lot of frustrated people out there in regards to our recruiting success. However, discussing it on a message board helps that situation in no way whatsoever. You know what does? Paying players. We've all seen it work for the Kansas's, the Kentucky's, the... Villanovas? It doesn't really matter which schools are cheating, what does matter is we know a lot of players get benefits and a lot of players require out-of-bounds "wooing" to commit to a school.
If our "booster network" isn't getting it done, its time for us as fans to step in. Are you in a well paying job? Contribute 10k into a "rivals pool" that we could use to throw at a PG. Are you a business owner in CU? Talk to the Athletic Department and offer them everything but the kitchen sink whenever they need it. Are you a student and know some "fly honeys"? An electronics retailer that can get free gadgets? Can you get free shoes? Give them to Illinois bball, and win these recruitments.
It can't be that hard to get money to a kid's family, or to throw free stuff at students that are on campus. In fact, its really, really easy. We just need someone/s to step up and start changing this stuff. That's how fans at big sports tradition schools do it, and if we want to be one of them, it'll take some money to get us there. Lets stop pointing the finger at anyone but ourselves. (and the people who don't stand up in SFC A section, screw those guys.)

(note: i was pretty disgusted with myself when i basically requested we pimp out ladies to visiting players, but i hear stories of that crap all the time so you know, get it done in a consensual and legal manner please)
