Well worth the read.

Couple highlights...
Parker took heavy criticism after Teague resigned at Minnesota in August after accusations of sexually harassing employees. At the time Minnesota hired him, Teague was facing a gender-discrimination suit from the women's basketball coach at Virginia Commonwealth, his previous stop. Minnesota officials said they were not made aware of the complaint.
Parker said the company and university did their "due diligence" on Teague, who earned acclaim for hiring basketball coach Shaka Smart at VCU.
Minnesota interviewed six candidates for the AD job, Parker said. And he said Rutgers interviewed nine of the 13 candidates Parker recommended in 2013 before hiring Hermann, who was involved in a sex-discrimination lawsuit at Louisville in 2008 and was accused of vocally abusing players while she coached volleyball at Tennessee.
and...
One said he was told that Parker — and only Parker — is on the university's list of approved vendors for executive searches, meaning the school could hire the firm on a time-sensitive matter without soliciting bids from competitors.
and finally...
"We don't have a stable of candidates," Parker said. "If Illinois were to hire us, they'd tell us what they're looking for, then we'd identify candidates on a national basis. We literally have no vote in the (hiring) process. Our responsibility is to make sure a client has all the information to make an informed decision."
After reading it, I get the appeal. Assuming the candidates aren't pushed on the school and those candidates turn around and hire the firm for every search they conduct, I'd place my concern more with those doing the hiring, rather than the search firm. Basically Hogan screwed us, and he's still getting paid by the State to screw us some more.
