I have a question for the board lawyers or those that understand liability law. The other day, I was playing in a 36 hole event in Illinois and was tiring towards the end of my round. I was teeing off on a slight dog leg left par 5 and came through a little quick with a pulled my drive along the out of bounds line with some draw. There are houses about 10 paces in right past the out of bounds line and I hit about 2/3 up one the homes going right through a small half circle window. The homeowner came out and wasn't too happy. I explained that I was sorry and of course my intent was not to hit his house, but the fairway. I took his information and said I would look into this issue. After some research I am not so sure I am liable. I want to call the guy back and let him know what I am (or am not) liable for by law. Any opinions on what, if anything my impressively bad tee shot may cost me?
