Loved DJ Newbill's emotion and heart. Egwu quote applies to him. Penn State looked great in warmup, will improve but Newbill is a huge loss.
MSU is much much better than a 7 seed. Sucks the life out of the opponent. Schilling is terrible but Costello is fantastic. Everyone but Izzo sees it.
Illini looked a little too loose in warm ups. Team culture is lacking focus. I think they get along fine but just don't have a sense of shared purpose or identity. Michigan knew they had us as soon as Tate and Black left the game after our run. If I can see it from 500 feet away Groce should see it before he subs. Black was the only player that disrupted them but when he lost his cool we were done.
Other teams ran offenses and generated easy 2-point looks. We ran some actions but they don't involve 5 players and are easy to defend.
Russell on tOSU is good but not as good as he thinks. Played like a rich rich man's Ahmad Starks. The Matta tree looks good with talent but unimpressive system.
