Freshman Ohio State RB Mike Weber from Detroit Cass Tech (4 star ranked #59) tore his meniscus. Will prob RS this year. Not that Ohio state has much to worry about with RB depth.

Talking about OSU, what do us Illini fans think about Braxton Miller at WR? Will he do well? I think he certainly can do well, but I don't expect him to get 1000 yds rec. I could be wrong though.

Was listening to the local sports talk radio station (Query and Schultz) and they were discussing IU this year and whether Coach Kevin Wilson should be on the hot seat. The thinking was no, not yet. He has upgraded the team talent via recruiting and the OL, they feel, is one of the better OL in the league. (They have 3 hon men. All B1G linemen returning) they have a RB transfer who was the NCAA leader in rush yds I think. WIth that said, they all think Crean needs to go, but that's for the other board. They then alluded to teams in the B10 that have underachieved and mentioned that Illinois should be way better than they have been.

I wanted to call in the show but I figured what's the point talking to hoosiers about Illini sports/??

They just can't understand why we can't recruit Chicago. Didn't mention STL and used the size of the state as a reason for having access to better recruits than IU does.

We've all talked about this too much on this board and I think there is a general understanding of the challenges this University faces when recruiting for the major sports, but this is pretty much only understood by fans of the program. They don't know who Bellamy is and barely remember Beckman's name.

I say this is the year we dust IU and stop effing around with them. Same with Purdue. I wish it were that easy to recruit Chicago as well, but to other fans from other states, they don't realize the lack of allegiance to Illinois as opposed to the other schools in conference. Indiana and Purdue don't get much loyalty either but they have had bad programs for so so long. I still think that we are above those two schools and Rutgers as far as perception of success.

I compare us to Louisville. We are knocking on the door to consistent bowls and 7-8 win seasons but not sure when that'll happen.

Thoughts?

I am now pretty closely tied with the Univ of Tennessee program and I really like what I have seen from the coaches. There is a lot of optimism in Knoxville that they are back or really close to it. The coaches seem to get it and the players love them. They are trying some pretty new-age things in order to get an advantage any way possible.
For example: They are using the "napping" technique for their coaches. They allow power naps and schedule it at times in order to stay mentally sharp. They also have instilled nutrition into their diets, realizing that historically coaches eat like crap, but now they want to help their own health AND set an example for the kids they are leading to also eat well. Smart idea there. They are breaking ground with concussion technology (which is why I'm affiliated with the program), but I can't say anything more about it at this time. I will say they are the first program to be on board with it and there is interest with other programs around CFB land. We will see what happens by the end of the season.
Lastly, they have found a new way to watch practice via the oculus goggles: Check this out:

Also, what's up with Texas? They still going to be garbage? (as compared to the past). Check out where they are in the current football recruit ranks...hint, they are right around where Illinois is.

WESTSIDE!!

Snoop Dogg's son quit football citing the need to pursue his other passion: smoking weed, errr I mean making movies...http://cbsprt.co/1UI2X3B

The class of 2017 #1 QB in the nation stands a towering ...5-10 and weighs 180 pounds??
Tate Martell will decide tonight b/w Bama, Tex A/M, Mich, Washingtion and USC. Kid must be good. Anyone think these schools think he's the next Manziell? I think he'll switch positions after a year b/c that is pretty damn small. But you never know. Maybe he is that good. He plays QB at the same HS Cordell Broadus, aka Snoops son played at, Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas.

Surprise Team of 2015?

I'll say Arkansas is going to surprise some people this year. Bielema doesn't need much time and they get 8 wins and a bowl which they will win this year.
Also, I think Tennessee finishes with 8 wins and will win their bowl game. They have some players now and Butch Jones is a coach that players want to please. Don't know if he's doing anything shady, b/c he has a history there but there is a lot of buzz in E. Tenn.
Your thoughts?

***BTW please check out my concussion company on twitter @waveformcomm and on facebook waveform communication

We would love to get a B1G school interested, hint hint
