  • Overtime - after the 5th overtime, instead of starting from the 25 yard line, teams will alternate making 2-point conversion attempts. That's in response to a marathon LSU/A&M game last year.
  • Targeting - The "middle ground" has been eliminated. When Targeting is the call on the field, it goes to the replay officials. The new rule is that the replay official has to confirm the targeting call (that ejects the player). Another new wrinkle is that 3 targeting fouls by any one player over the season is an additional 1 game suspension.
  • New 15 yard personal foul for "blind side block". Not sure how they're going to really enforce that one.
  • No more 2-man wedge formation on kickoffs.
