Maryland game moved to Friday, Sept 17

CHAMPAIGN, IL – The Big Ten Conference has announced the Maryland at Illinois football game in Champaign has been shifted to Friday, Sept. 17.

“We are very excited to be in a national prime time spot for our Maryland game,” Illinois Head Coach Bret Bielema said. “It is another opportunity to showcase our team, university, campus, and the best fans in college football. I-L-L!”

Illinois opens Big Ten play with two conference home games for the first time since 1991 when the Illini start the season in week zero against Nebraska on August 28 before Maryland makes its first ever visit to Memorial Stadium on Sept. 17.

The Conference will be announcing game times and television selections for games from week zero through the week three, along with Homecoming games, in the coming days.
