I just had a couple guys walk in the office from the dept. of athletics asking for local businesses to support the program by purchasing $10.00 tickets to the WIU football game.
It's a fresh idea....actual legwork, walking around, introducing themselves and doing some face to face marketing. I'm impressed.
I'll buy tickets for the entire staff and their families. I would not have done that if they hadn't cold called me with the personal visit.
