CBSsports has a 2016 NBA Draft Preseason Preview: Top-10 small forwards. Malcolm Hill comes in at number 9 on Sam Vecenie's list. Here is what he said...
9. Malcolm Hill
Hill had something of a breakout season for the Illini last season, averaging 14 points per game while shooting 39 percent from 3 and 79 percent from the foul line. More than anything though on offense, he improved as a slasher and scorer, showing off the ability to bully his way into the paint and either finish or get to the line. Defensively, he's already a good player that shows a ton of effort, and also a fair amount of intelligence in cutting off penetration angles and stepping into passing lanes. He also has seemingly long arms that really perturb opposing players. If he can continue to round out his ball handling and add some wiggle to his game, it's pretty easy to see how he could eventually turn into a first-round level prospect. An underappreciated guy that really could end up turning heads this season.
