"I did see him," LoVett said of Parham. "I looked at him a couple of
times. (Illinois) came out of nowhere, which is a blessing. It's cool to
have these opportunities and coaches coming here and watching me play."
LoVett
is one of the top unsigned seniors in the country. He also has offers
from Kansas, DePaul, St. John's, San Diego State, Tennessee, UC Irvine
and St. Joseph's, according to 247Sports.com.
A transfer from
California, LoVett said Illinois wasn't on his radar until he moved to
Chicago after last season. LoVett's 45-point effort raised his season
average to 20.1 points per game and his season total to 66 3-pointers.
"The
season is not over yet for me," LoVett said. "We still have another
game. After (Saturday's) game, I'll buckle down to the schools I think I
should. I have no visits planned. That stuff will get sorted out after
basketball. I just tried to come out here and help my team win.
"It's
definitely way much different out here (in Illinois). This whole
journey for me coming out to Chicago has been great for me. I'll always
have my heart in Chicago."
