Champaign, ILL.– Illinois junior center Kofi Cockburn has been selected to the 2022 John R. Wooden Award Presented by Wendy's All-American Team, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced Wednesday evening on ESPNU.
The Wooden Award All-American Team is comprised of 10 student-athletes who were the top vote-getters from March 14-21 balloting in the quest to earn college basketball's most prestigious honor.
This marks the second straight Wooden Award All-American Team accolade for Cockburn, as he joins Dee Brown as the only two-time Wooden Award All-Americans in Fighting Illini history.
Cockburn and Gonzaga's Drew Timme are the only 2021 Wooden Award All-Americans to repeat as honorees this season.
Cockburn's second selection brings Illinois' total to eight Wooden Award All-Americans all-time since the honor began in 1976.
