"Jalen Coleman-Lands was essential to the La Lumiere community for the last two years. A 2-year starter for the boy’s basketball team, Jalen averaged 23.2 points, 3.1 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game during his senior season, which culminated in Jalen being named First Team All-State by USA Today. In addition to his on-court success, Jalen was the recipient of the Traute and Miller Bransfield Award, the highest award bestowed on an underclassmen, recognizing the student “who best represents the La Lumiere ideal.” Jalen will continue his academic and athletic careers at the University of Illinois where he plans to pursue a degree in business administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship."
