So today I looked mostly at the defense and picked out the first team from what I saw in the first 30 minutes of practice

D-Line: Bobby Roundtree, Jamal Woods (no one expected him to be back already, great sign. Was very disruptive last year before his injury) Tymir Oliver and Ayo Shogbonyo (Isaiah Gay and Owen Carney Jr. are out which is who I expect to compete at that spot).

Linebackers: Jake Hansen at weakside, Dele Harding at MIKE, Delano Ware at the SAM/Nickel

- Strong side linebacker and the nickel play basically the same role in this defense. Ware worked out again with the LBs. What will be interesting is to see how Milo Eifler and Shammond Cooper play into all of this. Miles Smith told me back on signing day that they want Milo to play weakside, but what does that mean for Jake Hansen? Hansen was solid against the run, but garbage in coverage. If Eifler can cover, then Hansen can easily lose his spot IMO. Harding is kind of on the same boat where he's arguably the best tackler on the team, has the most experience, but still not great in coverage which is why he played the SAM. Can he transition to the MIKE? Eifler is getting worked at all spots, so he's coming.

Corners: Jartavius Martin and Nate Hobbs (I'm expecting this DB group to make the biggest jump just because they were so young and inexperienced last year).

Safeties: Tony Adams and Sydney Brown

- Stanley Green will get rotated in there. Lovie has showed that he likes to play three safeties. Green is a liability in coverage, but he can just make big plays. Gotta have a guy like that on the field.

During walk-thrus, Matt Robinson was with the first team and M.J. Rivers was with the second. Wouldn't overreact to it, but still interesting.
