There's not much to report from Saturday's camp. I didn't see any Power 5 prospects at the Camp, and just a handful of potential DI players. Illinois is expecting a much better crop of talent for the Friday Night Lights Camp on June 15.
A few notable performers from today's camp.
Linebacker who moves pretty well (4.58 forty) and could end being a MAC kid. He was particularly good in coverage in the one-on-ones. Notably, Campos is the son of former Illinois linebacker Lou Campos, who played at Illinois in the mid-80's.
Good arm and throwing touch, and ran a respectable 4.9 forty. Kinney is getting FCS attention. He would be a more interesting kid to watch if he was 2020/2021.
Put Wilson on the 2020 watch list. I would like to see him get stronger and play with more toughness, but has a good frame and he tested pretty well.
Easily the best lineman at the camp, and a guy Illinois will probably want to keep an eye on this fall. If he keeps having solid camp performances, Harris will start to pick up some offers. He has good length and solid fundamentals playing guard.
DePriest has been on the radar and he had a chance to perform in front of Luke Butkus and and show what he's got. I don't think he did enough. He's not very long, is more of a waste-bender, and struggled with hand placement and technique in general. DePriest has MAC offers, and that's likely where he will end up.
