Training Camp will take place on campus Aug. 4-20 and is open to the public

CHAMPAIGN, Ill.– The Fighting Illini football team will open its 2016 preseason training camp at Memorial Stadium on Aug. 4. All of training camp, which runs Aug. 4-20, will be held on the University of Illinois campus, open to the public and free to attend.

Players will report to campus on Aug. 3 and the first practice will begin at 11 a.m. on Aug. 4 on the grass practice fields just east of Memorial Stadium. Fans are encouraged to come watch coachLovie Smithand the Illini as they prepare for the 2016 season and stay for post-practice autographs with the team. Free parking will be available in the northeast State Farm Center lot (enter off Kirby Ave.).

Most practices will be held on the grass practice fields just east of Memorial Stadium (MAP), weather permitting. In the case of inclement weather, practice may be moved inside and closed to the public. Practice time updates will be posted toFightingIllini.comand on Twitter@IlliniFootball.

Starting Sunday, Aug. 21, all practices will be closed to the public.

More details on the fan experience at practice will be released as training camp approaches.
