This is kind of interesting. If some didn't believe Shaka was being genuine regarding sticking up for Mike Thomas in him not being the reason for not coming to Illinois. Here you go.
The University of Illinois is not nearly as big of a draw to big named coaches out there.
It really makes me want Groce to do really well this season, because I DO NOT want to go thru a coaching search again, seeing how many of the big named coaches say "No" this time.
I like Groce's personality, and the majority of his players past and present have really good things to say about him. I hope he puts it all together, and the players play up to their abilities this upcoming season, b/c with our talent, the renovated SFC, and the potential for an amazing recruiting class in 2017, I hope we blow away all expectations this season, and make a Sweet 16...positioning Groce to be our coach for a long time to come.
