Kids in this state aren’t necessarily loyal to IU or PU and the best kids always go out of state - it’s not just a state of Illinois thing
Look at 2018 class of Indiana top 15:
1 Emil Okiyor - OL - Alabama
2 Cam McGrone - OLB - Michigan
3 Markese Stepp - RB - USC (Southern Cal)
4 Julius Brent’s - Safety - Iowa
5 Johnny Adams - RB - Cal
6 Donald Johnson - CB - Iowa
7 Reese Taylor - ATH - INDIANA
8 Tyrone Tracy - RB - Iowa
9 Isaac Guerendo - WR - Wisconsin
10 Hugh Davis - MLB - Boston College
11 Madison Norries - WDE - INDIANA
12 Paul Moala - Safety - Notre Dame
13 Kristian Pechac- RB - Undecided
14 Anthony Torres - TE - W Mich
15 Lawrence Johnson - DT - PURDUE
class of 2018 was a pretty decent one for Indiana but not their best by far. Only 3/15 stayed IN STATE.
There’s some good players over here and it would be awesome to see coaches start developing relationships w the top High schools here: Warren Central, Cathedral, Ben Davis, Lawrence Central, Fishers, Carmel.
Staffs in the past have recruited Indiana, with a few commitments here and there but this staff could really make some good inroads and Lovie is well thought of here.
There’s more Bears fans here than people from Illinois know. Lots of people around the North side of town moved from Chicagoland for cheaper living and jobs in Indy etc.
anyway just thought I’d show an example of what Indiana can produce and does/Will lately.
Football here is really picking up.
I coach QB’s for the Indy Select 7 v 7 club and it’s a joy watching these players. I also see other P5 schools come in and offer players from the Select squad frequently and wonder why Illinois isn’t.
Class of 2017 top 10 went to:
Clemson, Ohio St, Louisville, Cincinnati, Penn St, Vandy, Missouri, Neb, IU, IU.
