The last time Illinois made the 2nd weekend of the NCAA tournament was in 2005. There have been 11 tournaments, including 2016 since that time. And over those 11 years, 67 Programs have made it to the 2nd weekend at least once. Those programs along with number of S16s are shown below.

Some programs that have made 1 Sweet 16 in that time.

Cornell, FGCU, Bradley, La Salle, Northern Iowa, Ohio, Richmond, SIU, St Marys, Vanderbilt, Washington State, and Western Kentucky. Unfortunately, the most damning of these is probably Ohio's, as without that one, we might have recovered from Weber by this point.

Some programs that have made >1 Sweet 16s in that time.
Baylor, Butler, Marquette, NC State, Stanford, Miami, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Purdue, San Diego State, Texas A&M, Washington, Wichita State, West Virginia, and Xavier
