Because cfb in its infinite wisdom currently has 80 bowl slots, of which only 75 can currently be filled. Only 3 more teams can become bowl eligible, and I'm pretty sure all 3 are serious underdogs in their last game of the year.
Could be as many as five teams with only 5 wins in bowls. For purposes of practice, I'd prefer to go. But man any 5 win team won't deserve it.
