Did we really benefit by moving the NW game to Soldier Field?

Paid attendance at Soldier Field 2015: 33,514

Paid attendance at Ryan Field 2014: 33,137

Paid attendance at Memorial Stadium 2013: 37,058

Paid attendance at Soldier Field 2013 against Washington: 47,312 and it appeared there was a huge Huskie fan base at that game.

Did we make any money from this? Yes it did seem to have more people dressed in orange than in purple but did we really have home field advantage? Seems like the Chicago media was too busy being giddy with the Wildcats and they did not have to send anyone down to the "farmer and hick" part of the state to cover the game.

Do we have to pay the City of Chicago to play at Soldier Field, or do they pay us like the Prairie Capital Convention Center did to host our basketball games? If we don't make any money from this, I don't see any reason to continue to play there for the remaining two games we have scheduled. Do we have a buyout clause? I would not think we would have to pay anything to Northwestern since it seems all they did was agree to play at a different venue closer to their home.
