with post-game comments, and presser comments about the refs & rent-a-player?

I think he did, and I'm glad the refs let em play. Granted there were bad calls, but that's part of the game. Bo wasn't bitching about the missed oob call, and missed finger-tip ball. He was complaining about his guys getting hand checked in the lane, and held on cuts. Bottom line Wisco's offense was stuck in the mud, and they couldn't run anything. Bo's stubborn attitude hurt the Badgers, but Duke's Defense shut em down. Yes there were missed fouls on both sides. Allen had at least 2 drives where he got hammered...no call. Jones got fouled on 2 3's, no calls. The difference is Duke made em when it counted. The Freshman Guards were unreal.

The rent-a-player comment was dumb. Granted, I don't know if he was taking a subtle shot at one-and-dones, by talking about the the 5th-year transfer, but IMO, I think Bo was bitching about one-and-dones, b/c how did 5th year Seniors matter to last night?? They didn't. Bo knew what he was trying to imply. Who did Bo just lose to Maryland? Yep, Diamond Stone. A one-and-done guy. It wouldn't surprise me if Stone was trying to stick it to Bo by staying in the B1G. Bo wants to control everything. I.e. the players, the refs, the game, the pace of play, everything. In this day an age, the player has way more control. I'll give Bo his props, but he's old-fashioned and behind the times. If Bo watched the last 3 NC games, he would have seen the refs let the players play. Is it different than the regular season. Damn straight. So that's an issue in it's self, but if he watched Mich-L'ville, uConn-UK, he would have known fouls off ball would not be called, and a lot of shooting fouls would be let slide as well.

Remember when Bo went on Mike & Mike and made a fool of himself w/ his transfer that went to Iowa a couple years ago. His controlling attitude won't win him a championship, and I'm in agreement with others who think Bo's best chance to win it all just left with Kaminsky.

Anywho, this is one reason why I want Groce to keep going for the one and dones. Even if we lose eight of them, we might get one. JCL isn't a one-and-done, but when you see this kid play ball, you'll know why shooting for the stars sometimes pay off.

Groce just needs to get better at having at least 3 backup plans, especially the main positions of Groce's offense. The 1 & 5 have hurt us, but now we have D.Paul and Finke, & hopefully get a 5th year big guy. The "Lead Guard" misses have been hard to take, especially when seeing some of those misses play this last year. That said, everyone knows my feeling about JCL. He's a helluva consolation prize for the Brunson and Evans misses. Would I like a pure Point, YES, I would, but I'm excited to see JCL develop into that Lead / Combo / Groce Guard that Groce wants. Tyus Jones is a Pure PG, but DUKE won the National Championship last night because K's Guards SCORED. Not b/c they facilitated. I think Groce knows the players he needs to get to be successful, and his tenure at Illinois will fall squarely on the shoulders of his last 2 classes, and the guys he rents for this upcoming season. Coach K's best coaching last night happened a year ago when he signed Jones & Allen. He got to the NC game by more coaching, but still it's about the players.
