Long night last night, up every hour to hour and a half last night tending to the meat. But don’t worry, I’ll push through. Besides the brisket, I’m throwing on some burgers, brats, and chicken breasts for lunch. I’ll also be whipping together my dump chili sometime today as well. It’s your typical chili but for the meat I basically “dump” in all the extras that I’ve accumulated throughout the week. It will have chopped up ribeye, brats, burgers, pork butt, and eventually brisket. It won’t be ready until Sunday. It’s a fan favorite.
Now for the games...(all times central).
FRANKLIN AMERICAN MORTGAGE MUSIC CITY BOWL 7-5 Auburn (-3.5) vs 6-6 Purdue (O/U 57.5) 12:30 pm ESPN.
I really like Auburn in this one. I just think that their D can hold the Purdue offense to under their average. I think they will win by 10+. But it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if the Big Ten got one from the SEC. One thing is for sure, Brohm will either be a genius after today or an overrated coach. Because we never have middle ground around here and grade each player/team/coach on a game by game basis.
CAMPING WORLD BOWL 9-3 Syracuse (-3) vs 8-3 West Virginia (O/U 66) 4:15 pm ESPN.
I’m thinking that this will be a good one. I’m rooting for Babers here because I’m a huge fan of his. West Virginia will be missing some key position players so that really should hinder their chances. With them, West Virginia is the better team. Syracuse by a touchdown.
VALERO ALAMO BOWL 10-2 Washington State (-2.5) vs 8-4 Iowa State (O/U 58) 8:00pm ESPN.
Similar to Brohm, I can’t wait to over analyze Leach and Brock Purdy. I’m going with Iowa State to cover here. Leach hasn’t performed great in bowl games and one has to wonder how the players will react to playing in this game for Wazzu after thinking they were good enough to win the Pac12. Mostly I’m just hoping for a high scoring game with some Leach one liners in the postgame.
