Da’Monte is often reminded about the flash and the unmatched ability to see the floor that Frank had during his career.
“Monte won’t make a pass that he should make, and I’ll tell him, ‘Your dad would have threw that thing right in there, on the bounce, right on the money.’ He just looks at me and smiles,” David Williams said. “He’s just such a good kid, a humble kid. I enjoy spending time with him.”
It’s still very early in the process, but Da’Monte seems to understand how special it might be to wear the same college uniform one day that his dad once did.
“It would mean a lot playing at Illinois,” he said. “My dad played there and represented in a good way when he was there.”
