Man of the Night in CFB - Our pal Ron Turner. I got to rip him a bit today, but he gets his revenge tonight. Turner's FIU wins 15-14 at UCF (that's a horrid loss for UCF). Turner took over a disaster at FIU, and it continued for his first two seasons. Year 3 needs to be a real improvement, and that win is a nice start.
You power football folks, I'll never get you. At the half, Minnesota 3 points and Michigan 3 points (at least MI now has 10). You can't beat good offenses like TCU and Utah playing that sort of football. It's just stupid. It's not like TCU and Utah have awesome Ds, either (TCU had a big play D last year, but gave up points AND their D did take a hit from graduation; unless I missed something, Utah is better on O than D). The B1G has failed for 10-15 years (sans tOSU) because it has figured out that football is not about power first, it's about speed and quickness first. If power football, Wisky would be a perennial title contender, not a nice regional program.
WKU beats Vandy. Glad we aren't playing WKU again even if Vandy is headed towards last in the SEC. Hopefully MTSU doesn't give us similar problems.
